– AWARD INFORMATION & HONOREE –
Each year, Gaines House honors a special woman who is a role model for the women we serve. This person is a success in both her career and in giving back to the community. The award is named after the late Sandra Cherry, who was an outstanding lawyer, serving as Assistant United States Attorney, and as President of the Arkansas Bar Association in 2001-2002. Winner of the U.S. Department of Justice’s 1999 Directors Award for superior performance by an Assistant United States Attorney, Sandra handled cases that became models for prosecutions across the country.
However, throughout her career, Sandra always found time to serve our community, serving as a board member of the Arkansas Community Foundation, the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, the Governor’s Mansion Association, Good Shepherd Ecumenical Retirement Center, and as board president of Gaines House.
The Sandra Wilson Cherry Award Dinner is held each Spring. For information about the event, contact us at: email@example.com
